Not so much for the general public. Just how many low level drug inmates are in Federal Prison? Also, from the WAPO: "The inmates from federal prisons nationwide will be set free by the department’s Bureau of Prisons between Oct. 30 and Nov. 2. About two-thirds of them will go to halfway houses and home confinement before being put on supervised release. About one-third are foreign citizens who will be quickly deported, officials said."

Bet they won't be on the first train or convoy back to the good old USA. This is the tip of the iceberg, many more to follow. If there were careful screening to place truly low level prisoners that in all probability not return to the drug scene in some form or fashion, I would probably agree, but....

Reclassify the categorization of MJ so as not to result in prison sentences or, as with gun control, enforce the laws. Don't get me wrong many deserved to be locked up. Sentencing should be according to the level of the crime committed!. Now many will return to prison because, society will not give them a break. So they go back to what they know and try to make quick money. The level of inmates that are now being incarcerated have no respect for staff and the law. Towards the end of my time several staff got assaulted or killed for no reason. I learned a lot from inmates and I thank God that I survived those 22 years. I saw and experienced some really crazy stuff. I am not overly worried, but my guess is that at least 20% of them will be back in jail for drug offenses within a year.
