Will President Obama's visit to Cuba Improve U.S/Cuban Relations?

The President will be the first Sitting President to visit Cuba since 1928. Will his visit help improve the way of life for Cubans? Will it Influence the Cuban Leadership to change its Political System in that Country? Do you think it will Influence US/Cuban Relations?

Personally, I think this visit is more symbolic than it is as a doorway to improved relations between the US/Cuba. No one really knows what relations between the two countries will be like until there's a new president and they lay out their agenda in regards to relations with Cuba imo.

I don't see why not. I'm sure American businesses would love a new territory to expand into, and I'm sure the Cuban economy would love an infusion of money and businesses...

I'm not sure that his visit will bring any immediate change in Cuba's political system or diplomatic relations with Cuba. What will bring change to Cuba will be the influx of US tourists, their dollars and the improvements that will result to ensure the continuance of the tourist trade.

It is one of the few diplomatic coups that I wholeheartedly approve that came out of this administration. It will mean the death knell for the communist dictatorship in Cuba.

Cuba is long overdue to become another vacation get-away like it was before the Cold War. Tourism will become their major industry in which case Mr. Trump and the rest of Wall Street will be the first ones to build there. Politics is a distraction; truth is found only by following the money, and there are billions to be made in Cuba.

I truly hope so! I can personally speak from experience and say that Cuba needs to come out of the 1950s. It's not only behind in times, but it's in ruins and poverty. I had the luxury of leaving at the age of 7 but my grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins did not. They struggle everyday just to put food on the table and that's not the worst of it. I would absolutely love to see some change. I can only hope that the U.S. and Cuba can come to agreement that will benefit them and build a good relationship.
