Will Obama pardon Hillary Clinton before Trump swears into office?

Offering a pardon would essentially show belief of guilt, but do you believe President Obama will issue a pardon to Hillary Clinton before Donald Trump swears into Officer on January 20th, 2017?

As much as I would like to see to see orange jump suits in her future, I believe the healing of the country would be better served with an acknowledgment of fault and a pardon.

Only dictatorships try and imprison political opponents. So yes, he needs to pardon her, to take that off the table, so Trump doesn't spend half his term just focusing on Hillary. Trump can't control his temper.

I just learned that Ford pardoned Nixon preemptive to an indictment. It was well within his presidential right, and I dug up a 1988 editorial that outlines constitutional points.

My thoughts are no. His own reputation would fall at stake.

I think he will and have always thought so. My thought is that he has blocked her indictment every time it could've been issued. I don't have any real proof of that but something or someone has done so from every fact that has been laid out in the media. I don't see how she ever became the Democratic nominee for President; it just astounds me in every way.

In 1866, the Supreme Court ruled in Ex parte Garland that the pardon power "extends to every offence known to the law, and may be exercised at any time after its commission, either before legal proceedings are taken, or during their pendency, or after conviction and judgment.

I hope he doesn't, but I think he should.

Issuing a pardon will essentially look like an admission of guilt that needed to be pardoned. What does he pardon her for exactly? She hasn't been charged with anything specific yet. I don't think you can issue a blanket pardon for a battery of crimes not yet identified or charged etc.

Obama is not a Clinton fan and she has left his "legacy" fully in tatters. I don't think we will pardon her. He might want to see her twist in the breeze.

That's an interesting question. There is no great love lost between them. Their hard fought campaign eight years ago produced some interesting videos that Trump was able to use against Hillary. On the other hand, I suspect he most likely will inasmuch as during the prosecution of her case it will be revealed that Obama himself was corresponding with her over a known unauthorized email server. The implication will be clear that he did so and used a pseudonym so that he wouldn't be tied to her illegal influence peddling (for which I'll bet he got a percentage)

The Republican director of the FBI has said he will not even pursue charges... there is no need to pardon someone who has been scrutinized as much as Clinton and who still doesn't have any criminal charges.
