SPC Private RallyPoint Member4495702<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My wife tried explaining to me that if you enlist into the army with a bonus in your contract that is over a certain amount, the army will pay you a lump sum of the bonus on the 1 year anniversary of the date you enlisted and give you the rest in installments throughout the rest of your contract . So last year she got her lump sum whenever she hit her first year . She is currently in the process of getting out under chapter 8 and her ETS date is April 4th, 2019 but her 2nd year anniversary is April 3rd, 2019. Will my wife be receiving her second lump before she gets out ?Will my wife receive the second lump sum of her bonus on a pay day or on the 2 year anniversary of her enlistment date?2019-03-29T15:21:35-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member4495702<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My wife tried explaining to me that if you enlist into the army with a bonus in your contract that is over a certain amount, the army will pay you a lump sum of the bonus on the 1 year anniversary of the date you enlisted and give you the rest in installments throughout the rest of your contract . So if she does get the rest before she gets out I would say keep it so you can give it back to the Army.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 29 at 2019 8:34 PM2019-03-29T20:34:01-04:002019-03-29T20:34:01-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member4496940<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If your wife did not fulfill the amount of years her contract stated, she will not receive any of the remaining amount and the Army will also recoup the amount she already received because she did not fulfill her contract obligation.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 29 at 2019 11:30 PM2019-03-29T23:30:42-04:002019-03-29T23:30:42-04:00SGM Bill Frazer4499029<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I doubt it- bonuses are paid based on the needs of the service and her fulfilling her contract, she can't fulfill it with a chapter, and they can try to recoup the 1st payment as well.Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Mar 30 at 2019 6:29 PM2019-03-30T18:29:44-04:002019-03-30T18:29:44-04:002019-03-29T15:21:35-04:00
