You'll always be treated like the fng to an extent even more so in combat arms. But the extent usually depends on you and the way you present yourself to your new direct leadership. Good thing is though in my opinion it's mostly up to you.

One advice is to keep your previous enlistment to yourself. Army and Navy are very different animals. If you do your job right and you are always on time, and also don’t call attention to yourself negatively, you will be alright. One last thing, don’t be a pushover, or they will eat you alive.

Your troops may not say that to your face, but you will be scrutinized and judged just like you are one. It's called the Name of the Game. Your elders and your superiors have all played it before themselves. Play along, and all will be well.

Will you get treated like a newbie? Hell, as a PFC, you are a newbie.
And if you want some real fun, tell your 19D colleagues that you have experience in the Navy. That will elevate you in their eyes, I am sure. ;)

I had to remove my previous unit patch day 1 orientation because apparently new soldiers to hood are equal regardless of rank. Just go with the flow

Oh you are going to get the shit ribbed out of you. Really depends on your unit though. My first Unit, Delta company, i was put in first platoon for the first year, and i had a blast with those guys, they taught me a lot. Then we got this asshole SSG, who had been riffed at 16 years for being a fat fuck, who was a drill instructor, and tried to run the guard like boot camp. Needless to say that did not work out very well. The first time we spoke he called me a faggot, for having been in the Navy. After he realized he had just fucked up professionally, he said, "I can say that because my father was in the Navy", to which i responded, "I guess your lucky you were born since your father is a faggot.".

The guard is what you make of it. You will have some good NCO's and some really shitty ones. But the majority of the knowledge will be form new incoming specialists who just got off active duty. Listen to them, they will teach you how they were taught, and get a copy of the combat leaders field guide, it will teach the rest of what you need to know.

The thing about the guard that is great, is that once it starts to suck, it is usually over. Funny thing? This was true when i deployed to Iraq too, once it got to the point where i felt like pulling my hair out because of ignorant and petty NCO's and officers, the deployment was over.

I am not sure what kind of sailor you were. But, the army is big not big on specialist running around thinking for themselves. The navy on the other hand encourages you to think for yourself. You are going to learn when to keep your mouth shut, and when to speak up. That is the biggest thing. There is a lot of "make work" in the guard. You need to learn to roll with it.
