That will put you at 18 years. You are eligible to request to be transferred to a Reserve status to attain a reserve retirement at 20 years. Going reserve and doing two gets you money, but doesn&#39;t start until age 60. You&#39;ll have to do the math, but getting less sooner and investing the right amount will turn out better in the long run. However, if you invest nothing, then age 60 on is much leaner. As the others have suggested, there are other alternatives that you have so you can still reach your 20 years. Good Luck to you.
