Will I be able to claim my wife twice on our income tax since she is disabled?

My wife had surgery a year ago for cervical stenosis. Her situation kept getting worse and without going into a long story had to file for social security disability. I know we are going to have to pay tax on part (at least) of her disability check. It isn't an option, she cannot work any longer. Question: Will I be able to claim her twice on our income tax since she is disabled?

I believe one dependent is one dependent regardless of their ability to work.

No. You can use her for your standard deduction and report her SSDI. Look at the bright side. My wife is disabled but can't receive SSDI because she does not have enough credits. I think it is silly because she can't work.

I don’t know how to explain SSDI and taxes. There is a formula which the IRS uses and not all of the SSDI is taxable. There is a reprieve. I am a numbers guy, but I wish I could illuminate the methodology better. Perhaps I will try to google it.
