Will getting promoted mean I cannot go to the board?

I am supposed to go to the BDE and Post Soldier of the Quarter/ Year Board. Will being promoted to E-5 mean i can no longer attend?

Well, not for the Soldier portion but you could for the NCO portion.

Have you been promoted yet? are you slated for promotion? the Promotion point cut offs and by name have not been released yet so I would prepare to go even if you get promoted.

Ask your NCO chain. I have seen it both ways where a soldier begins boarding and makes to HHQ boards and gets promoted. It’s really up to the CSMs

Good question. I cannot imagine they would just cancel the board for you, but would merely transfer you over as an NCO Board competitor.

It should state the rank requirements and restrictions in the LOI.
