Will BREXIT embolden Russia's efforts to counter NATO expansion in the region?

NATO dominates the region, Russia may wish it could counter NATO influence in the region... however that ship has sailed. Their equivalent security organization formerly referred to as the Warsaw pact, is history. Warsaw, is now in a NATO country... East Germany is now Germany, and they are now completely surrounded by NATO with only a few exceptions.

Russia may still decide to bluster... however, that's really all they could do when Turkey shot down one of their fighter jets. Almost a year later, Turkey finally tells Russia they apologize... Doesn't sound like to me like Turkey or anyone else (other than some Eastern Ukrainians) are shaking in their boots about Russia.

I don't see how. None of the materiel or personnel is disappearing.

I suppose it might if the EU actually represented a military power. To be fair, I don't think they could have mounted a defense any better than they managed an economy.
