Will a diagnosis of PTSD, prevent deployment to a combat zone?

Not sure about it now, but I had Soldiers that deployed with me to Afghanistan that were diagnosed with PTSD.

I do not know...that being said I would check with the Medical side and ask some questions.

It doesn't have to. It depends on the severity of his PTSD.

Severity is a true statement. And I don't care what anyone says. There's a negative stigma for those actually having a Ptsd profile. I'm living proof. Sure, I'm pretty messed up. But my current unit is awesome. If I was still on bragg, I'd be called every girly name in the book.

depends upon severity but be aware it is going to be considered in the future and likely negatively, You have shown great effort to remain combat capable and in my opinion that itself says many things but most of all you are commited and driven to succeed
