One of the blah's, was that she understands that joint domicile is not guaranteed. I'm the only one joining the military. I understand that if we were both in the military how it would work but I don't know why she has to say it now. Can anyone break this down for me please??Why would a recruiter have my wife write a statement that she understands joint domicile isn't guaranteed if she isn't joining the military?2019-12-02T21:02:56-05:00PV2 Private RallyPoint Member5299831<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm trying to get a family wavier approved. Joint domicile not guaranteed? WTF? If you are stationed CONUS, and you have all your paperwork (marriage cert, etc.) filed and your wife is in DEERS and has an ID card, then when you get to your duty assignment, you apply for on post housing. If no on post housing is available, then you will get a Statement of Non-Availability from housing and can then get housing off post. If you are going OCONUS, then it depends on where you go as some OCONUS assignments (like South Korea) are hardship tours and must request approval for your wife to accompany you. Then there are some OCONUS tours (like Honduras) where family is not permitted.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 2 at 2019 9:43 PM2019-12-02T21:43:47-05:002019-12-02T21:43:47-05:00PV2 Private RallyPoint Member5300001<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Everyone I talk to about this does not understand why my recruiter is asking for this. A lot of times when recruiters say something off the wall it's because it's a new guy and they don't understand what they're reading.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 2 at 2019 10:16 PM2019-12-02T22:16:20-05:002019-12-02T22:16:20-05:00SFC Michael Hasbun5301530<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Jokes on you! After talking to other recruiters in the office, we figured out that he miss read the memo that was given to him. My wife and I had to sign a paper that said how many dependents we have and that none of them had any disabilities. So, we are good to go. Thanks for all the feedback.Response by PV2 Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 4 at 2019 7:30 PM2019-12-04T19:30:18-05:002019-12-04T19:30:18-05:00SPC Devin Young5307902<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>He was just trying to Jodi you..: don’t fall for bro!!!
