Why won't the White House reveal to the governors of the states where they're sending the Syrian refugees?

The White House is refusing demands from governors for details on Syrians to be resettled in their states.

Because they've seen the same lists we have of states who say they will not take refugees!

They probably don't have a plan yet.
I rather doubt that the agencies responsible are terribly enthusiastic about this idea. If the bureaucracy is working correctly (HA!), they are doing some cross-talk in order to figure out transportation, security, and talking to potential host sites.
I am not holding my breath...

Just because there is a law that says the governors can't refuse to take them, does same said law say how long they will be allowed to stay?

Because it is none of the states business.

The governors can make all the demands that they want, and the federal government will tell them to pound sand.

It is like when some governors attempted to tell the president some years ago that their state's National Guard would not be allowed to deploy to Iraq, etc. They were told to pound sand and the troops were deployed.

Because it's not a good idea and they know it.
