Why shouldn't the military issue suppressors to all personnel?

Given today's technology and improvement with them, is the benefit of stealth and hearing protection not an overall check in the PLUS (+) column for them? RE: Cost, I've seen them range from $250 - $1000+, of course, military procurement departments will probably opt for a $3500 model that is no more effective but you know ...
If not for all personnel how about the 11Bs & 0311s and Scouts ... they're supposed to be sneaky anyways but still.

I'm for it but more for the noise aspect. Anything that makes it easier for the team leaders commands to be heard easier I'm all for.

I wouldn't call Infantry sneaky. They're a big blunt hammer where stealth isn't the generally the premium.

PFC (Join to see) - Hmm, yes I can see a benefit to that. I'd be concerned trying to swing around an 8" or longer extension at the end of my rifle barrel when operating in close quarters: hallways, doorways, etc. I guess you take the good, you take the bad.

SGT Dave Tracy true that I don't know if I want a suppressor because it's going to make cleaning it much more headache but it does have it's advantages.

Most important reason, Not needed for all troops. The average patrol is not hiding from anyone, there is no tactical need for a suppressor.
Its added weight to the SM's kit, added length to the rifle
Then you have $$$, which would be better spent on any number of things from improved NVGs for those that drive, fly or patrol on foot to vehicle upgrades or replacement M4 magazines

SGM Erik Marquez I only see a benefits when it comes to CQB and urban operations less noise from shooters can decrease some of the confusion in close in fighting. I know Marine Corp is experimenting with the idea of giving every Marine suppressor for that reason. Not sure where i stand on it but it's an interesting idea.

PFC (Join to see) - Having done QCB a few times. I'm not on board with a 5.56 suppressed M4 giving any significant advantage "decrease some of the confusion in close in fighting"
When teams that have a very large budget and an almost unlimited ability to equip how they want are not interested in suppressing all weapons all the time for "QCB" Id be hard pressed to understand why some Cav squad needs it

SGM Erik Marquez fair point for sure our Scouts could use supressors our sniper section already does it makes sense for pur scout teams to use them.
