However, it is hard to trust someone when the only thing you see is their eyes. As the article I attached says, "Over evolutionary time, the ability to quickly extract information from faces has given us an edge in predicting character and behavior. It helps us to discern who's sick and whom to trust, who's flirtworthy, and who might blow up at a moment's notice. To get a sense of others' religiosity, sexual orientation, promiscuity, aggressiveness, competence, intelligence, and even trustworthiness, you might think that you should focus on how they act, not how they look. But then you'd neglect your swiftest insights." https://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/201211/whats-in-face.

My personal point is the it is hard to judge a face by its cover, especially if you don't see the face behind the cover. How do I trust someone when I only see eyes? I will not. Interpersonal skills are not developed behind covers; it's face to face time. I respect if you do not want to show your face in public; however, you also have to deal with how the public perceives your choices.

Page not found | Psychology Today

The requested page could not be found. You can still see Christian women using the veil to hide their hair at church although they are not total facial veils. Muslims took the facial veil to prevent women from tempting men into infidelity. Christian example of this are shown in Mary in most of her pictures. I thought this was a very good video explaining why they are doing what they chose. At no point did they talk bad about another religion or how theirs was better. I respect these women for their views, even though I have my own personal opinions based off personal experiences with the Burqua and Niqab. The Catholic Church has changed and evolved. They used to say mass in Latin and now its English. They used to abstain from meat on Fridays during Lent and the church has allowed this for Catholics over age 60. Most of what we believe, in the Catholic faith was written during the Dark Ages when the age of enlightenment was just a concept as yet undiscovered. People like Martin Luther were breaking away from the faith because they didn't like the rules that "Man" had set forth for their faith. This was at a time when women were subservient to the men in society and their importance was even written out of the bible. The woman who brings life into the world was lowered in stature to that of a servant. So having said all this I believe that new immigrants to our country should assimilate to our U.S. culture. You don't see German's walking around in Lederhoesen or for that matter Norwegians speaking Norsk daily in public or at the lumberyard. They celebrate their heritage in their homes or during special days of the year. They modified their actions and behavior to coincide with the culture they were integrating into. I think a Muslim women reporting to the DMV will need to lower her face veil so a positive ID can be made. This applies at a polling site too. How can you make any judgement about a persons intent or honesty if you can't see their face. That female you are standing in front of could be a guy ready to do you harm. This was evident in a few market bombings in the Middle East from eye witnesses.
