SN Greg Wright 1263169

So in my USO post, I was attempting to relate my experience, when I got cut off, a-la-twitter style, with '0 characters remaining'. I had to post and then return and 'edit' it to finish my thoughts.

Is this a glitch? If not, if it's intended, it's a HORRIBLE call -- many people have more than the, what, 500 characters? (I didn't even notice, but it wasn't more than a large paragraph!) that seems to be the limit.
Why is there a character limit in questions? What if a person is relating a long experience? 2016-01-27T19:02:55-05:00 SN Greg Wright 1263169

So in my USO post, I was attempting to relate my experience, when I got cut off, a-la-twitter style, with '0 characters remaining'. It sounds like you want to relate an experience, not seek expert advice. So please share your story using "Post Update".

If you're wondering why this is, it's because it turns out that experts who are answering people's questions don't want to read long novels... they just want to answer actual questions. This helps those seeking help as it enables more people to quickly identify topics they can help in. If a user wants to share a long story (and even ask a question about it), we created the option for him to do so with his network by using "Post Updates" Response by LTC Yinon Weiss made Jan 27 at 2016 7:07 PM 2016-01-27T19:07:27-05:00 2016-01-27T19:07:27-05:00 LTC Stephen F. 1263296

SN Greg Wright there is a character limit on the "Home" page questions. As far as I know that limit does not apply to questions you post in the Topic groups or the basic groups of the pre-home-page questions.
