If it was up to military commanders, our budget would be five times higher and we would be at perpetual war in order to ensure the money kept rolling in. We are relevant so long as we are at war. It's our political capital. Military commanders provide a good tactical perspective, but that doesn't mean it's in the best interest of the nation as a whole...

Basically it's be like asking the CEO of Marlboro his opinion on the regulation of tobacco products...

A President, any President is not obligated to listen to advisors. At the end of the day they are the ones making the decisions and responsible for the resultant successes and failures. You'd recall some generals were advising against our Invasion of Iraq, what ended up happening?

SSgt Alex Robinson Simple answer, because he can. I have my personal beliefs as to the why, but it really comes down to because he can. Doesn't mean there aren't potential ugly consequences down the road for our nation due to decisions made by our President. The pendulum swings slowly and we will get through this.

Wow! Folks you know I am not an Obama fan, but sometimes you just got to call bullshit!

Somebody please name one president that has taken every bit of advice his military commanders has given? More importantly who wants a president that does? We would be in so many conflicts we would have to arm our children to fight overseas.

Please stop and just think for just 2 seconds before posting things that may be true but are not uncommon. Obama does enough things that just don't seem right. You don't have to make stuff up.
