There is a National Registry Commission (NRC) that was setup to gather data on registered residents in the country. Given that the kids are born to illegal immigrants in the U.S. then, are such children of illegal immigrants free to be American or must they leave too and if they stay then, why can't their parents be naturalized, so the family is not separated?"

The short simple answer why illegal immigrants who give birth to a child in US territory should not be naturalized is that such a policy will incentivize illegal activity. A longer humanitarian answer is that every year thousands, probably tens of thousands of people undertake the trip North to illegally enter the US. Along the way a very high percent of those people fall victim to the elements, and human predators. Such a policy of naturalizing the parents of anchor babies is just baiting the trap.

Furthermore, those guilty of illegal immigration are far more likely to from unskilled, or lesser skilled occupational skills. Highly educated people and skilled tradesmen are far more likely to wait and enter the US legally. Disproportionate distribution puts unsupportable strain on state assistance programs.

Finally, part of immigration policy is to allow assimilation into US cultures and values. Communities can only absorb so much at a time. That type of thought goes into the calculations when immigration quotas are established. Europe has some of the most extreme examples where third world immigrants are able to establish enclaves so large that virtually no assimilation takes place for the vast majority living within the enclave, over multiple generations. Part of America's past success has been "the melting pot" and relatively high single generation assimilation, and virtually universal second generation assimilation.Response by Maj John Bell made Aug 3 at 2018 8:56 AM2018-08-03T08:56:43-04:002018-08-03T08:56:43-04:00Lt Col Charlie Brown3849520

The 14th amendment was not written to give citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants but to the children of freed slaves. As I have no clue what your talking about. I am rather ignorant to this situation as well. I can only comment on the title to the article that you posted. As we Americans are having to deal with this same issue today.

I once saw a Meme that said' "Sneaking into a Country doesn't make you an Immigrant, any more than breaking into a house makes you part of the family". I thought about that more, and I thought. If a couple were to break into my house "illegally", and have a baby on my kitchen floor. Is those in favor of illegal immigration or illegals having children in the US and calling them Americans, saying that I should recognize them as a Hutton?

Or just because a killer has been on the loose since 1947, living about the community and finally caught. That he should be exonerated because he has evaded being caught this long?

My point is, illegal is illegal. There is no substitution to the word and people should start recognizing that. No justification is necessary when determining and administering the correct course of actions. Specially from anyone who is in direct violation of a written law from any country. And I be damned that an illegal be allowed to vote or participate in any election or decisions made by a country. Hell, even the Home Owners Associations understands that. Ours won't allow anyone renting a house in our housing addition to attend the meetings. I believe that an illegal that has a baby in another country, that country should void any citizenship. Or be classified as an illegal citizen and no benefits of that country should be awarded to the child or parents. Until the child or parents later becomes a legal citizen of that country the legal way.Response by SFC Harry H. made Aug 3 at 2018 11:54 AM2018-08-03T11:54:51-04:002018-08-03T11:54:51-04:002018-08-03T07:54:53-04:00
