Why is a SMSgt who will be Ops superintendent be required to be crane certified on deployment??? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/why-is-a-smsgt-who-will-be-ops-superintendent-be-required-to-be-crane-certified-on-deployment <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I just find this an extreme waste of money to send me to crane school when I will be acting as Ops Super for an upcoming deployment. According to one of the line items it is a requirement. Why would they not make this a requirement for someone who will be most likely operating in the field? I'm all for receiving training but it just doesn't make good operational or financial sense. Is it possible you are filling a 7-lvl tasking? When push comes to shove, if you are filling a 7-lvl ULN then you will be expected to perform 7-lvl work regardless of rank. Most of the time it is something that the command in a deployment rotation had problems with before or high visibly request coming up in the future (i.e. planning ahead). I sat in the UDM seat for a minute and there are times that the line item remark was an error on the skill level or the AFSC. Have the UDM or A7 rep confirm the remarks from the AOR CC, that is where the request is generated. If a dirt boy says he can or can't do a crane pick you will have the understanding why. If you are deploying as anything other than the Ops Super slot, then it would make sense. Double check 10-210, but I don't recall the Ops Super slot having that requirement. The other Dirt slots have at least one required per team, are you sure you aren't filling one of those slots? I lost the opportunity to train because they wanted to play. SrA Brandon Jordan Wed, 01 Jun 2016 21:29:05 -0400 2016-06-01T21:29:05-04:00 2015-12-18T11:45:25-05:00
