Because Russia has not committed the use of the entire military force. There are times when I feel that Russia is performing a sleight of hand. Of course, with the current amount of equipment, weapons and ammo that Ukraine has received, that certainly has a play in it as well

Because tons of NATO weapons and equipment are being funneled in with NATO also conducting training of Ukrainian forces.

On top of that, Russia has not deployed in force and has not used its more advanced aircraft or armor. They could be peppering Ukraine with missiles from behind Russian lines and they are not doing that in significant numbers.

This may be that Russia is experiencing procurement issues and has let their stockpiles dwindle or that they're not fully committed and were hoping Ukraine would fold like Georgia in 2008 and Crimea in 2014.

There are many reasons, most obvious, a couple not so much.

Weapons and funds provided by the west. Covert experts in the field related to the provide equipment. Definitive evidence of strategic/operational experts providing guidance on how to combat such a force. THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

Russia I’ll prepared tactics and procedures, no will to fight at the ground level. No depth in Russias leadership, along with poorly trained military leaders and units. No strategic planners qualified to mange such a large front. No support from the people of Russia, less so mow that there is a call up.

This call up will only amount to more death and less support. They are calling up men who are not trained and have little to no experience. It’s sad but true, Russia will inflict sone damage, likely more to their own ranks than to the Ukrain. They are leading lambs to slaughter. Hopefully the Ukrain can withstand the untrained hoards.

It is clear that Russia has the same doctrine as during the cold war. They do not have the size and Breadth to fight the front in mass.

Sorry drained, this is a mess.

Revolution in Military Affairs (RMA) is technology, doctrine, and tactics that change the face of warfare. I consider Blitzkrieg, Marine Corps amphibious landings in WWII, and P-51s as RMAs. Many of them are created during the inter-war periods as nations prepare for future wars. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes they do not. An example is the Army Air Force believing bombers did not need escorts because they could defend themselves. I believe we lost 6,000 bombers in Europe. They got that wrong.

I consider the suite of precision weapons and weapons systems NATO has bestowed upon Ukraine an RMA in itself. It has given Ukraine the ability to fight with a much smaller military. Ukraine is also pushing the envelope with its drones and other weapons systems with new technology and tactics. Some of new stuff and tactics will become RMAs and it will behoove of the US Military conduct AARs and pursue lessons learned. The main belly button for this endeavor for the US Army is the Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL). This is how lessons learned is institutionalized and promulgated throughout the Army. I am impressed with the creativity of the Ukrainians as they evolve technology and tactics. I would like to know what they come out with in the future. CALL
