We didn't, and if you wanted something different you got this stuff: Chun King. This awful stuff is an embarrassment to all things culinary that comes from Asia. It was my first exposure to Asian food, and my mom made the stuff. It looked like nuclear reactor waste with some crunchy noodles. It wasn't until I was stationed in Holland some 20 years later would I ever eat Chinese, Thai, and Indian food and developed a liking for it. But first I would have to overcome my fear and loathing of the dreaded "Chun King."
