Why don't retirees get a CAC card?

It would be a lot easier for checking My Pay and e benifits with a CAC card reader.

I understood that this was being tested around Fort Bragg and other installations on the East coast. I do not know what the outcome was or if it is still being tested. I do agree with you about the ease of access for us retirees but one of the issues I do believe would be costs. We would have to be provided with CAC readers and access to put the software on our home PC's. Not readily available for everyone right now.

The technology is there. You can buy card readers almost anywhere. CAC cards are a bigger pain than remembering to change a password at DFAS or MyPay. I have a CAC for my job and a retiree id. Replacing the I'd is a much simpler process.

Like SFC Williams said I heard it was in the test mod but nothing yet and know one ID card section my base can tell me anything. I know the hospital on base would like it better easy to read on there machines

IT was Tested on Fort Bragg. I am a Retiree and was given a CAC card and a reader which I installed on my Computer. IT was so much easier accessing My Pay, Tricare and other military Sites without having to remember Long Passwords. I wish they would bring it back but I'm sure its all about cost.
