Have you physically processed in? That would include doing finance, DEERS, start pay, etc. That typically occurs when you check into your first AD initial school. If not, then that's why you wouldn't get a CAC until then. Can't have a .MIL account until then. That said, you should have a military ID card otherwise known as the DD Form 2. For IRR that would be a reserve green card. I would surmise the IRR status is just the holding pattern you are in until you start your first day on duty which will also be your start date for pay, retirement, and promotion. During this period, they should be processing your security stuff as you must have the ability to obtain a clearance, not necessarily need one in your billet. Also, is your recruiter enlisted or an officer accessions type. I'd presume the later. Either way, there should be no obstacle to getting a DD-2. BTW congrats on getting your full RN degree. You'll have an interesting journey. Take it a day at a time initially as things will fly at you fast. That and the hospital admin types will have a very different culture than what you may have observed in the civilian world. Good luck. CAPT Kevin B. I also commissioned in December and I am currently in the IRR pending my BOLC report date. They place us in the IRR because we are not in a pay status and have to be placed somewhere. You can get the green IRR card but that doesn’t help with the email system. 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 30 Jan 2020 11:36:16 -0500 2020-01-30T11:36:16-05:00 2020-01-29T22:40:17-05:00
