Why do you think it is SO important to the POTUS that there be a Palestinian State?

There is new blood being drawn because Bibi won the elections. Before he won, he swore there would be no Palestinian State. Apparently, the Israel Voters sided with him. Since America and the "POTUS" are avid supporters of Israel, why would the Pres want to step on our Allies Toes??? I know there will be strong opinion, just please, be respectful.

I think it's simple, SGT Private RallyPoint Member. Even though I side with Israel on the issue, there is the fact that many Palestinians are without a "home" (nation) to call their own. The practical side of me says and sees that those Palestinians needs a homeland. My heart says that homeland does not need to take away Israeli territory.

In other words, I think I see President Obama's point, but I wholeheartedly agree with PM Netanyahu on the issue. We'll see if POTUS can twist Bibi's arm and make something happen. I pretty much doubt it - not in the two years remaining, especially since we have "been at this" for decades.

This administration has shown a strong willingness to negotiate with terrorists. Berghdal is the one story of this administration negotiating with terrorists that still have me shaking my head. I think it is because of the liberals that put him in charge that fuels his agenda.

He went so far as to threaten to shoot down Israeli jets if the attacked Iran. Iran has sworn it will wipe Israel off the map, so much for any state in the region if that happens.

Although it cannot be proven, there is evidence to suggest that the POTUS is more willing to work with terrorists than he is to defeat them. His little token policies really do nothing more than get the left fired up to say "he is doing something"

Palestine is a magnet for terrorists and Israel has every right to defend itself, and as our ally, the United States should support it in ways other than bullying.

Now let the down votes begin, Please, if you do, have the courage to say why

The only thing that mentions him at all was one sentence; "White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said President Obama still believes in a two-state solution." Not exactly the epic cat fight the headline suggests...

I love, Love, LOVE!!! Talk-radio host Dennis Praeger. Unlike the pompous airbags like Limbaugh, or the "out there" ramblings of Glen Beck, Praeger is refreshingly down-to-earth, never shrill, never loud, and always extremely well-researched, articulate, and prepared. He understands Israel and it's role and place in the World better than most Academics and State Department officials. As an American Jew, the relationship between the U.S. and Israel has been an issue of keen interest and importance to him his entire life. A favorite an frequent topic on his program is the dynamic at play between President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu. Bottom line, Obama has contempt for Netanyahu because Netanyahu recognizes evil and aggressively confronts it; those who do not confront evil always resent those who do.

Although I can't fully agree with our Commander in Chief on many international issue fine points, a separate Palestinian state is the only way to even hope for a small respite from a sizeable portion of the Middle East turmoil. Much of the world doesn't even realize it, although Bibi is probably conscious of the fact, no matter what he says publicly. In fact it is the only way to actually provide some security for Israel. Step on those toes, Mr. President. Be hard on this issue cause we may only have a few chances left. Some peace is needed somewhere, doesn't matter which front to me.

I wish people could see how beautiful Israel is. I got to go there last year and it was amazing. I know it is of topic but I just don't understand how there is so much turmoil over there. When we went to the Bazaar in the Old City. Everyone was living together, yes they had different sections for each belief but everyone worked well with each other. At least from what I witnessed.

Apparently, Bibi has changed his mind as of yesterday. As soon as he was re-elected. Now he says that if certain things changed, he would support a Palestinian State. which now puts him in line with POTUS and the State Dept. Weird how that works huh?

A dangerous political game being played on the world stage. I have my suspicions why POTUS is manipulating this, but I have to keep it to myself. All three major religions lay claim to the area and have for thousands of years. Giving Iran the ability to have a nuke opens the door to everyone in the region potentially getting one. And do you really think politics could keep anyone in that part of the world from exercising the use of said nuke?

The problem with that particular piece of land is that you have two extremely different groups of people that are both claiming it as their homeland. Both are willing to fight and die for that piece of land. Worse than that, both are willing to kill for that piece of land. Everyone wants to have a place to call home. Now why Mr. Obama is so concerned about it, the only one who can honestly answer that question is Mr. Obama himself. Unfortunately, he is a politcian, and politicians are not capable of being honest even with themselves.

The reality is there was a Palestinian state created when the Balfour Mandate was done. It's called the Kingdom of Jordan, and they don't let "Palestinians" in.

That being said, and keep in mind that I am a Zionistic rabbi, it's important to have a Palestinian state because the reality is that no-one is going to forcibly relocate all the Palestinians, as happened to the Jews in the majority of Muslim lands in 1948.

The best way to contain the violence of Hamas, quite frankly, is to make them a country. Then, if they commit war atrocities, as they repeatedly do, they can be held accountable in the Hague. As it is now, when they do things like firing missiles from Mosques, houses, schools and clinics, it's not technically a violation of the Geneva Convention, because they are a terrorist group, not a country.

If any country was officially doing things like this during their war, they'd be converged upon in a heartbeat.

In a perfect world, I would love to see Jordan create cities for all the Palestinians, and let Israel belong to the Jews, as it has for 3500 years. In reality, we have to accept that Gaza and the West Bank are gone to Israel, and we'll never get them back.

The best thing to do is to let Palestine be a self determined, self governing and self taxing country. Then, when Palestinians are living in squalor, it's their fault, not Israel's. If there is no money for food, fuel or water, because it's all going to attacking Israel, it won't be Israel's "fault" any more.

Veronica, to answer your question let me ask you, why did congress pass the 19 Amendment?
Passed by Congress June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment guarantees all American women the right to vote. The issue with the Palestinian is far greater, are you willing to give up your rights and the rights of all American Women to vote? All these things are related and lead to change but change is good, unless you want to give up your rights and the rights of all American Women. People that oppose change will use any excuse to resist change because the reality of it is that the world as they know dies and another takes it place. Which bring me to a bigger issue why don't the politicians push for equal pay for women as it is for men and why don't we just arm the women of the Middle East and let them solve these problems on their own?

My opinions on this issue regarding why the POTUS may be handling things like this may be too strong; and I'm sure Blue Falcon would love to flock to an article like this. I will say that I stand with Israel and I'm happy BiBi won.
