Many stay in their MOS for 20 years or more. Probably most do. You most likely will catch a B billet if you plan to stay, provided you have a decent record and are qualified. So get ready for it. Don't wait to get slammed with one you don't want. DI, Recruiter, or Embassy are the choices and you can plan on getting screened for selection unless your MOS is critically short. You can survive any one of them, but they each have different requirements physically and mentally. If you do ok your good for promotion with your peers, and if you excel there are accelerated promotion opportunities.Response by CWO3 Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 16 at 2018 10:11 AM2018-04-16T10:11:38-04:002018-04-16T10:11:38-04:00Sgt Adrian Jones3548022<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>A litte background into my Marine Corps Career the Mos I started in when I tried to re enlist while deployed in Afghan the Career Retention Specialist slept on my package for nearly a month. When he finally got around to it(Msgt chewing his ass) my MOS was at 110% and I couldn't re enlist into that MOS so I had to choose a different MOS I chose a MOS where the Marine Corps is phasing out the platform that we work on. So I would have to move to something else all together, like everyone else said it is really dependent on the MOS.Response by Sgt Adrian Jones made Apr 16 at 2018 10:27 AM2018-04-16T10:27:05-04:002018-04-16T10:27:05-04:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member3548059<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Use the troops trap? That reminds me of Army command sergeants major, with plenty of time on their hands, looking for minor things to complain about like you kind of crossed his lawn or grass or forgetting to put your troops trap on your open top top heavy 5 ton truck that would probably flip over if they hit a minor curb. How will the safety strap help you on a roll over? Lat moving to a MOS with a lower cutting score would, obviously, make it easier to promote and, therefore, keep you in the Marine Corps longer.Response by PO3 Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 16 at 2018 7:18 PM2018-04-16T19:18:59-04:002018-04-16T19:18:59-04:002018-04-16T10:10:07-04:00
