Never, I love what do even thou its "part time" . But even as a reservist I've done more while in the military that I could ever imagine. For example getting my naturalization, surviving two combat deployments, oh and serving on a Peace Keeping mission in Bosnia and there was also a state side mobilization. As to why I joined? well I think it was because I wanted more besides being a civilian, I wanted adventure and felling of belonging somewhere and being a part of something important. " Mission Accomplished " :)

It really is amazing how much you can get done in a reserve capacity. I gained so much more training and experience when I left active and started choosing my deployments and training.

I always wanted to serve; my Father, Grandfather, and all of my Uncles served. I wouldn't change anything; I have worked with and had the pleasure of leading the best professionals on the planet.

I think one of the greatest feelings I ever had was arriving at a new unit and taking over as platoon sergeant, and after looking at that platoon and saying to myself "what a mess", then 3 months later looking at that same platoon and seeing the "class" of the battalion. It was also a great sense of pride when the Battalion CSM called me in and asked to hold classes on Saturday afternoon to teach classes to the rest of the platoon sergeants in the battalion and teach those "yayhoos" how to be good platoon sergeants, especially when I was an E-6 and all the rest of those "yayhoos" were E-7's, with anywhere from 6 - 8 more years time in service than I had.

I joined the military because I saw no future in the city I was currently living in. I often re-think the path I could have taken but remember that things often happen for a reason. Yes, I am that kind of person. I would not defiantly not stop myself from taking the path that got me to the point of where I am now.
