I could see this leading to problems if everyone has access to do this as well depending on how RP is coded.

However, I think that if a post has no replies and you authored it, you should absolutely have access to delete it. Of course, you would also have to get the influence points you received revoked too (obviously).

What do you think admins?
Response by CW3 Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 31 at 2017 4:20 AM2017-07-31T04:20:04-04:002017-07-31T04:20:04-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member2784810

It would be good thing to be able to do.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 31 at 2017 5:22 AM2017-07-31T05:22:53-04:002017-07-31T05:22:53-04:00LTC Kevin B.2784923

You can always contact one of the admins and ask us to hide it for you. Unlike Facebook and Twitter, there is no checks and balances on people's on line behavior. We as a community are a pretty disciplined and rational bunch.

When one of us crosses the line, the community calls them out and normally that sets things right. On the off chance it doesn't the SysOps will step in and remove the post or conceal the account on the most egregious cases. Sooo, think before you post and all will be right in the RP world.

And no this is not suppression of your free speech and expression of your ideas, thoughts, feelings and beliefs. We are not the PC police here, but we do (as former and current members of the military) adhere to some standards of conduct and decorum. You can say what you mean but do not be mean as you say it.

As to grammar and spelling, if you are so worried about it why not write it in MS Word and then cut and paste it into RP. For some of my lengthy and complex posts (AKA epistles) word has helped meResponse by LTC Thomas Tennant made Jul 31 at 2017 8:07 AM2017-07-31T08:07:02-04:002017-07-31T08:07:02-04:00SGM Erik Marquez2785123

Morning..I cant speak for why site owners make a policy, business or software decision...
I can say its not an uncommon setup on Internet forums where users can only edit, and even then only for a short time.
Deleting a post after it has been made is a software and database issue as well as a business decision .....
More so once others have responded.

If a user has a "Oh No" moment and realize they posted something they had rather not, message an admin and we can hide the post if appropriate.
Lastly, nothing is ever "deleted" from the Internet so its a bit of misleading thought to think any user on an Internet forum is deleting their post. At best your removing it from general public view...but many times Admins and mods still see the post, or worst case, it has to be viewed and restored on the back end.
Its not a bad question, I just dont have an official RP answer.
EDIT: "I just dont have an official RP answer. " But I have asked....

EDIT 2: Then there is the use agreement the member agreed to..which says while the member retains ownership of the user content, by posting they give RP the right to do whatever they want with the post...that I assume includes, retain it.Response by SGM Erik Marquez made Jul 31 at 2017 8:30 AM2017-07-31T08:30:54-04:002017-07-31T08:30:54-04:00SCPO Private RallyPoint Member2785219

Thank you.
