Why can't we conceal carry a pistol in uniform while on federal installations?

Ok I conceal carry off base. You have to cause people are crazy. The same crap happens on base. We carry M4s and stupid junk 9mm. Oh don't forget the machine guns. And everything else. People go crazy wveryday. Look at Fort Hood or Fort Knox for example. This is stupid we should have the right to carry to protect ourselves. Some states are letting teachers to conceal carry. That is awesome. The world changes why are we not? To worried about people cussing I guess.

SFC Private RallyPoint Member I have read your previous posts, and i have to say that you sound a bit zealous about wanting to carry a gun. Do you really feel that unsafe? Has your 'long time as a leader' not given you any faith in your fellow Soldiers? Yes, a guy can walk in and start shooting anywhere. Does that mean that you will carry a gun in a bar? In every state that I've been in that's illegal. Just curious how far this fear of yours goes. If fear will drive YOU to do something illegal.

I enjoy shooting too. Twice a week at a really nice range. I carry concealed where it is legal to do so. Which is 'almost' everywhere here in Alaska. (Lots of big animals running around.)

I know that it's just not smart to carry a gun into a bar where people are going to be drinking, and maybe, getting stupid. I am also smart enough to know that if you give every swinging Private the right to carry a gun on base the number of shootings are going to skyrocket in no time flat. And that is why you can't carry a pistol in uniform on a federal installation.

SFC Private RallyPoint Member too many REMFs that are afraid of guns/weapons. Several years ago I had a ltc challenge my carrying a pocketknife in uniform. I don't get it.

To answer your question SFC Marcus Howard, President Clinton is the one who prohibited it with an Exevutive Order that became law. I think it was titled the Safe Military Installations something-or-other.

The answer is "It is politically incorrect" to allow conceal carry at all. Do you think IF the policy maker can take out conceal carry completely for the nation, they won't do it? Same with common core education, when states out there is pushing back to end it. Guess what .... they push common core in the military ...
