You would be surprised why we do these things. We gather Intel on everyone we work with. You would be surprised on how poorly the chinese military is equipped. I am sure if they are sending their soldiers to train with us they are sending their best. We should be able to assess this. There could be a good intel we could gain.

According to the article it was done so that we are on the same page when helping with natural disasters. None of the militaries well kept secrets are given to medics that aren't SOF, so no harm no foul.
