I like to post stories about some of the legends, characters, and bad asses I knew in the "Old Corps" & I figure who gives a dam about my career or accomplishments which aren't that great. Then I joined the reserves after a ten+ year break and listed my current unit and job. When I get promoted I'll update. Realistically that's probably all I'll do. I know many Intel weenies (depending on the job) that do the same.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 5 at 2016 6:03 PM2016-03-05T18:03:16-05:002016-03-05T18:03:16-05:00Capt Private RallyPoint Member1357525<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Some just don't trust social sites and they do have a point. I mean, what does it contribute to the community? (That's a genuine question) My name rank and unit are here. I don't and never will post my entire work/life history on social media, all that info about me just has no business on the public web beyond what is data-mined already. If it's more than someone can look up on MOL, RP certainly doesn't need to know it about me.Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 5 at 2016 7:48 PM2016-03-05T19:48:20-05:002016-03-05T19:48:20-05:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member1357882<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Because I barely have enough time to make all my witty comments, my profile is the last thing in my mind.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 5 at 2016 11:12 PM2016-03-05T23:12:49-05:002016-03-05T23:12:49-05:00SGT Jeremy Reese1357970<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It is the same reason my LinkedIn isn't complete. It is too easy to use information found publicly in a malicious attack. Whether it be spear phishing or social engineering. Having everything public invites compromised security.Response by SGT Jeremy Reese made Mar 6 at 2016 12:47 AM2016-03-06T00:47:40-05:002016-03-06T00:47:40-05:00PO1 Tony Holland1358029<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My profile is only at 75% because the photo I want to use is in storage temporarily. Like several other commenters I will never use Facebook because of its' security issues. For those concerned about needlessly disclosing profile info if you look at the upper right of this page you will see a downward pointing half-diamond. Clicking on it will take you to settings where you can configure whether the general public or only verified RP members can view the details of your profile. Hope this helps.Response by PO1 Tony Holland made Mar 6 at 2016 2:28 AM2016-03-06T02:28:58-05:002016-03-06T02:28:58-05:002016-03-05T16:32:37-05:00
