Cruz is just there hoping for hope. In the end, thanks to Trump and the deep division in the GOP, Clinton will be President in 2017. Looking at the two parties so far, the DNC has held it together for the most part and played the game the same way Bellechik would on the gridiron. The RNC on the other hand looked like Dallas. Confused, mismanaged, big ego's, pretty trinkets, lots of bravado and no substance. This is leading to where the RNC is even bringing out the "big guns" against the....candidates in their own party. What is that telling the GOP faithful? I use memes a lot, but in this specific case, Ali IS the Dems and Romo is what's left of the GOP. It's accurate in the way people see what is going on. If that occurs, I think that Cruz will get the Republican nod, as Trump will not have the required support of the Republican establishment. If that occurs, it may drive Trump to mount a third party campaign, which would probably guarantee Hillary Clinton the election (unless she is indicted). COL Jean (John) F. B. Trump has the more moderate GOP voters, independents, conservative Democrats, and those voters in the ugly underbelly of the party. Cruz has the hardline conservatives and the Libertarian-leaning voters. They both split the evangelicals. That doesn't leave very much else for an establishment Republicans. The country club set and the neocons just aren't enough votes to get anyone else to the top. The establishment will be shut out, and it will be interesting to see if/how they try to exert their preferences. Will they try to steal it from Trump or Cruz, or will they try to align with one of the two? It will be interesting to see unfold. LTC Kevin B.
