He then stepped up to President when Nixon resigned. So he was not elected VP or President. In every other case where a President died in office, the VP was at least elected!Response by COL Jon Thompson made Sep 24 at 2015 11:30 AM2015-09-24T11:30:10-04:002015-09-24T11:30:10-04:00SGM Private RallyPoint Member990172

SGT Scott Bell,
That includes Vice-President, correct, so Pres. Ford and Pres. Johnson would not count, right, because although they did not get elected to be President (Pres. Johnson later won his on term) they were the Vice-Pres. when they assumed the POTUS. I've got to think on this one a moment.Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 24 at 2015 11:34 AM2015-09-24T11:34:17-04:002015-09-24T11:34:17-04:002015-09-24T11:23:21-04:00
