Who thinks RallyPoint should pick a 'no politics day', one day each week that no one can post or comment about politics?

we already do that ,on my job? Only one democratic crazy is still trying to pick a fight. he's even taken to leaving nasty political notes on the tables in the break room.

I didn't vote, because personally I refuse to talk politics on weekends anyways because it's a subject that typically gets heated and stressful and I don't invite stress into my home on my down time.

Honestly I'm not sure how it would translate onto a public forum like this. Some of us only jump into subjects days after it was originally discussed. Then again, what happens if something big happens politically on an assigned "no politics day". Do we all just pretend nothing happened while we all watch the clock waiting for the time change to spam the site with 30 different posts all about the same subject.

It'd be an interesting idea to see implemented, I just can't imagine how it would work. I'm pretty neutral on the subject.

When I signed up for this site I thought it was to exchange professional military ideas and lessons learned. I've had a few professional discussions but most are politically centered. So, my opinion of RP has changed. I just see this as another satire site. I think it's usefulness for many will cease.

It would be nice. Unfortunately there are some people that are going to discuss politics any time 24/7. It would be worth a try.

This wouldn't be a bad idea. Realistically though, when one doesn't feel like dealing with politics, the best course of action is phone off and turn on Netflix (either that or a book if one feels like a 100% detox). It's easier to turn off Social Media than it is to police the people on it.

I don't know if that's possible or even wise. We are members of a diverse community with many differing points of view. I think that honest debate is helps deal with the divisive issues. If you can talk rationally and respectfully with people you disagree with, you can at the very least reach an understanding. Yes, there are childish responses from time to time, but you can't expect everyone to behave in a civil manner.

I think I have seen just about any topic morph into politics some kind of way. It doesn't have to be Trump, Obama, Hillary, etc specific at all.
I've seen many a thread go off the rails because members lose their minds about this.
