I replied, "What do you mean Son?" He explained, "The rainbow used to be a sign from God after it stormed that God wouldn't flood the entire earth again. But now when people show it the mean other things." <br /><br />He is right. Rainbows used to be so simple a sign. These days, it has meant everything from a military unit, a high-tech vaccuum cleaner, an expensive car wash, etc. in recent times it stood for Jesse Jackson's political organization. Now, everytime mykids see a rainbow on a car sticker, a flag, a button, a poster, or even a small garden flag, they ask me if the person who put it there is gay. Now with the White House lighted in the colors of the rainbow, itis harder to answer the question. I have no issues with anyone or group adopting the rainbow as its symbol. But everywhere I look I see the rainbow not being used as simply a rainbow. It is being used to make a statement. <br /><br />What happened to a rainbow simply being a rainbow? "No Son. The Bible tells us that the rainbow did not occur until after Noah's flood. God gave it to us as a promise that He would never destroy the earth with a flood again. Now you can equate it to any meaning you want!
