Who should initiate a PCS/ETS award? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/who-should-initiate-a-pcs-ets-award <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I recently cleared my unit for a PCS and everywhere I have been it has been customary for the supervisor to initiate funds for a farewell gift. This time it was other NCOs who arranged a farewell gift and dinner. And the supervisors (3 E7s) were absent from any type of recognition (phone call, email, etc). What is the opinion of Rally Point on this matter? It's sad though that the 7's in your unit were absent as I fear they will be with mine but that's their choice to make. I started one for a soldier no longer in my section just because I worked with him for a long time. Another NCO started one of his own for the soldier though I've yet to see anything from his first line which is probably disheartening to some soldiers. So overall, first line should start it all and get others to pitch in based on the cost of gifts while they along with their Chain of Concern should be working tirelessly to give the soldier the ETS/PCS award they deserve.
