Who should I contact for not receiving a DD-214 when I was discharged (Army Reserve)?

My unit (Army reserves) never wrote up a DD-214 when I was discharged and I cannot get in contact with them. I have written to HRC but was told that I had to go through "Milconnect". They did not have a exiting DD-214 on file either. further telling me that my last unit did not turn in a DD-214. I am trying to re-enlist but without a DD-214 I'm at a stand still.

Any suggestion on who I should turn too?

Do you get a DD 214 from the reserves, I never got one, my 4 dD 214's are from active duty??

You don’t get aDD214 from the reserves unless you was in active duty and get discharged back into the reserve. You can get your honorable certificate but no DD214

SPC Tyler Aydeleotte, I was in the National Guard, then Reserves, then AD. so I was issues a DD-214 for a NG.

If you completed your Contract then ST. Lious is going to ask you or any soldier to fill out the paperwork and submit it via fax number I gave you below, the other two numbers are the call center numbers. The 1st is St. Lious, the 2nd is D.C.’s fallback number or overflow. They will tell you how to get you the information.

I’ve been on a conference call with another soldier to get the information you need. Hope this will help, you can also try your local MELPS OFFICE.

From what I recall, you should have received a DD214 when you left AIT. That's what happened to me. I did not get one when I left the Army Reserves. You may want to contact the PSD (or what every they call it) at you AIT.

If youre actually finally and totally discharged, look up eVetRecs and submit the Java applet, print out the form, sign and date it, ask for your personnel and med files separately, and call NPRC in St Louis, if youre still in an inactive Reserve, or other unit, you'd mmeed to call them, however once youre totally out, NPRC eventually gets all your stuff, ifmyou want to chat more tell me, I'll try to suggest more. OK?

The DD214 is for Release from Active Duty. You would receive one at the end of Initial Entry Training, the end of a deployment, or sometimes at the end of a school. At the end of your Army Reserve enlistment you would only receive Discharge Orders and hopefully the Honorable Discharge certificate. The National Guard does have their own discharge document called an NGB-22.

Guys, hi, one of those answering on here other than the poster of this thread had asked for some help about how to try to get a DD214; I sent him a good deal of stuff I'd accumulated over the course of a fairly protracted period about how to get help from NPRC, part of NARA, the Natl Archives, I'd seen most of what all of you had sent in, I just figured I'd mention I'd sent that other stuff, just in case any of you were able to see it, and/or might find it of any possible use, OK? You don’t get a DD 214 for completion of reserve time. It’s a simple discharge order
