Who remembers in Basic the lister Bags made out of canvas?

they were made of canvas I think and had black spouts going all around to fill your canteens there would always be a great big chunk of ice floating in the water and in aug it was wonderful who else rembers

I went through Basic Training in 2006 at Fort Leonard Wood and we had them. I suppose they're one of those "if it aint broke don't fix it" type of things.

Sure I remember those. 1985, Ft. Leonard Wood and many years after that. That was back when I was an Engineer. We also had "water buffalos", the water trailers. Then I got all posh and went into aviation. But back in the day, they were an oasis.
