I loved going to the drive in movies - When we didn't have enough money to get in we would sneak in during the day and turn up all of the speakers and when it got dark we would climb a big tree just outside of the drive in and watch the movie!

We dug a "fort" in the field by my house, behind the drive-in parking lot. Watched "Death Race 2000" for free. We couldn't hear it, but we still had fun!

Twister was my first drive-in experience. The scene where the tornado rips through a drive-in was definitely scarier being at one myself. There is still a drive-in near MCAS Beaufort that has double features, went and saw Deadpool and The Revenant last week there.

Can't recall any of the individual flicks, but do remember falling asleep in the back seat of the family car. Not much of a party-animal even back then.

My first drive in movie experience wa a Ninja double feature with "The way of the Dragon" with Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris followed by "The Octagon" with Chuck Norris and Lee Van Cleef.

My parents use to take us to double features. The one that I remember giving me nightmare and is burned into my brain is "Prom Night" and "The Children". I remember taking my kids and seeing "Lion King". We used to go to the drive in a couple times a week when the kids where little.

I still have a couple here in Minnesota. The one near where I grew up closed a few years ago because we just can't have enough strip malls.
My mom used to make enough popcorn to fill a trash bag, and we'd munch that until we couldn't eat any more.
We used to pay by the carload, so my 1977 Oldsmobile Toronado was a popular choice. I could get five on each bench seat, and another four in the trunk... and still have room for a grill and a stack of lawn chairs.

Remember them? Heck I still go to them! There are two here in Pittsburgh that still operate, one year round the other during spring and summer. It is a great way to take the kids to see two movies without a lot of cost!

Most Recently we went to Thor: The Dark World at the drive in. Good thing, I was not polite, and would have had to leave a regular theater.

As A child the most fun I had at the drive in was when went to see Star Trek 3 at the Drive in. Grandpa's Jeep Wagoneer, Grandma's picnic supper, just a blast.

I live about a mile from the still-active drive in in Dallas, Oregon. It's closed for the winter, but opens every spring for the summer season. I go 4-5 times a year. Still love it. $20 per car load up to 4 people, for 2 movies. Can't beat it.
