Who regularly updates their LinkedIn pages? Is it beneficial?

I make sure my LinkedIn is up to date and relevant, but I don't think it is really a contributing factor to landing a good job as some sources may claim. Honestly, what is my LinkedIn going to tell you that my resume/CV hasn't?

As I understand, LinkedIn uses an algorithm to measure activity on accounts. The more activity (job search, postings, conversations, etc.), the better your visibility to those who may be looking for a candidate like you. From personal experience, the more I work on LinkedIn's site, the more recruiter calls/contacts I receive.
