Later as teenagers my friends and I found ropes hanging over streams and lakes and swung out over them and jumped in to the cool water. At some point we hung our own ropes and swung out into the water. At some point we used homemade swings or usually ropes with knots tied in them to swing out into creeks, ponds and lakes.<br />How many you liked to either swing over water, sail out over water and let go, or pretend to swing out over water.<br />[Update] After I became a soldier, military water survival training added some twists to using ropes to go into water.
