We insure that they have no complaints (other than their detention) so we don't cheese off the crying liberals. Meanwhile the red tape at the VA keeps winding around itself and its over-bloated regulations and administration keeping our boys and girls from getting what they need. If that situation with vets dying supposedly due to backed up appointments didn't come to light, the only sound you would have heard from congress would have been the crickets chirping. Mistreat one detainee and you have a congressional investigation before the interpreter has finished translating. There is a lot about detainee handling at Gitmo that we don't know. We can't rely on media in these situations to necessarily give us an accurate and unbiased picture. I do agree however that the status quo is unacceptable. Our veterans deserve quality and timely medical care, and we are allowing some to fall through the cracks, without holding those responsible who are in charge of their care.
