SGT Jody Dickson114390<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Anyone who knows about Don Shipley the guy who runs the SEAL database and verifies is someone was in fact a SEAL. Does anyone know of a person doing this on the Army or Marine Corps side? Here in Chicago I seem to run into someone claiming to be a Ranger or Green Beret every time I wear an Army related t shirt or ball cap. The majority of the time I walk away shaking my head knowing they are full of crap. I'm just curious to know if there is a Ranger database? And who verifies this stuff? You know it's bad when a signal guy thinks someone is full of crap.Who is the Army version of Don Shipley2014-04-29T11:00:09-04:00SGT Jody Dickson114390<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Anyone who knows about Don Shipley the guy who runs the SEAL database and verifies is someone was in fact a SEAL. <p class="pta-link-card-description"> Cincinnati, Ohio/San Diego, California - Meet Nicholas Paea, he loves to tell people he was a Long Tabberthat served multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq with 7th Group. He also likes to tell of his Purple Heart's, two of them in fact. He claims one is from being hit by an IED, which gave him a TBI(Traumatic Brain Injury). He also claims a Bronze Star with Valor, he is also wearing a CIB(Combat Infantryman's Badge) with a star, which means...</p>

Aside from trying to cheat Applebee's out of a free meal on Veteran's/Armistice Day, the only harm they are doing is looking like a homeless, schizophrenic d-bag hanging out on the street corner with their pot bellies and bad haircuts and misplaced medals. If pretending to be someone they idolize is the way they make it through their sad life, let them keep their dreamworld and who gives a damn if another uninformed civilian shakes their hand? Let us continue to be examples that the misguided want to emulate. Maybe after the military destroys its reputation with a few more SHARP scandals, nobody will want to assimilate with us anymore and THAT will be a sad day.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 30 at 2014 11:16 AM2014-04-30T11:16:46-04:002014-04-30T11:16:46-04:00SSgt Gregory Guina115402<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have always relied on my intuition. It's true that intuition is a big factor in setting off the b.s. meter. The guy who comes running up to you saying I was a ranger or green beret 9 times outta 10 is blowing smoke. It's called a green card. If you think someone is wearing a tab they shouldn't be you can call and they will look it up. You need full name, approximate class they went through and SSN would be a big help.
