Who has more money, Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne?

One of my favorite discussions underway, who has the most cash? I always went with the Batman, he's old money. I see the argument with Iron Man eating up all the government contracts, but I think Batman is just cooler. What say you? Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark, or option c, someone else, Lex Luther maybe?

This isn't a real discussion is it?!......Tony Stark! Batman was/is a badass don't get me wrong...But while he was getting his ass kicked by Bane in Gotham City...Stark was busy trying to create world peace by brute force! Batman could hardly keep Gotham under control. Stark was busy blowing shitheads out of mountains in another country. I guess my point would be that while Batman acted as a liaison for a city (mayor) Stark was the liaison for the world (pope). Money by volume?

PO1 Crotts, I have a hard time believing this is a serious question. Everyone knows that Tony Stark has way more money. The markup on the billion-dollar weapons systems that Stark sells to the DoD has to be over 500%, and for any parts used for aviation purposes it's more like 2000%.

Mr. Wayne has old money, but his fortune probably declined a lot during the recession of 2008, and the dot-com bust back in the 90's was brutal as well.

I'm going to go with Anthony. From the outside he looks like he has many more resources at his immediate disposal in addition to Stark Industries while BW's seems to be more tied up in Wayne Enterprises. I'm looking at it strictly from a movie point of view as I'm not a comic book follower.

The Wayne Family is old money made over generations. Stark is just a Johnny come lately......beside Batman is way cooler!!

I think both are pretty cool and both have some really cool toys.... Bruce Wayne Industries is something I would compare to Proctor and Gamble...they are very well diversified and involved in just about everything. Tony Stark does have some high dollar bang with the arms industry and government contracts..... but I have to give it to Wayne Industries just on scope.

I would say it depends on when in the comics you are referring to... Both have gone broke on multiple occasions.

Great thought experiment.
Let's explore this. Tony Stark is essentially the heir of Howard Hughes / Walt Disney, while being a successful inventor and businessman himself.

Bruce Wayne however is the heir to Thomas & Martha Wayne. Thomas Wayne, M.D. was a physician and himself heir to the Wayne fortune, which came from a mercantile background then later Chemical production. Martha Wayne was also an heiress to a Chemical fortune.

That said, it is generally implied that the Waynes are a "regional" level company at Batman's inception, while WayneTech (etc) is roughly similar to Stark Ent by the time Iron Man is introduced.

One of the things that must be looked at though is relative wealth. In DC, you can't throw a shoe without hitting a billionaire vigilante like Bruce, Olliver Queen, Ted Kord, or Ray Palmer.

So, I would lean towards Tony as having more general wealth just because of his rarity among peers.
