I just found out that one of my sharpest E-6s will be asked to retire early. I should find out in the morning how many Airmen will be involuntarily separated.

I know of one unit that will lose nearly all of its captains to voluntary and involuntary separations. I remember the Force Shaping that went on a few years ago. I'm sure you might've seen that in 2006-2008. How are the latest set of reductions different? I'm hearing a lot of folks applying for VSP and then getting turned down. Any help in understanding the current AF reductions would be greatly appreciated.
