Who enjoyed snowball fights when you were younger? Who still does?

I do not know who first invented the snowball and weather or not t was for fun or as a weapon - probably not very effective.
I enjoyed building snow-forts when there was enough snow and enjoyed making snowballs and packing them down to almost ice balls as we lobbed them at each other. Sometimes we would go out to the streets and snowball a trash truck or some other big truck.
I expect many others have fond memories of throwing snowballs and less fond memories of being smacked with a snowball :-)
Ladies and gentlemen did you participate in snowball production or fights?

When I was young growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia every now and then we had snow days off from school. Sometimes snow stayed on the ground for days. If there was enough snow we would build snow forts and have snowball fights over fences which separated the back yards.
When my sons were growing up in Northern, Virginia it snowed less; but' snowballs could still be made as well as snow-forts. I hope one day to assist my sons teach their children to make and throw snowballs.

Snowball fights...was able to do this in Japan. It was the only place I lived while growing up where it snowed. I lived in NYC...but was older and never threw snowballs there.

I grew up in Florida, except for a couple years in DC Metro, so snowballs were out. Now I live in AZ, so they're NORMALLY out. However, I discovered something rather magical that my kids love that can make up for it (sorta) -

The last snowball fight I had was in 1987. I was 21 and home on leave for Christmas. I got ready to go pick up my girlfriend from the airport. She was home on leave from the marines. As I walked out the front door, my brother and his friend (both 15 yrs old) thought they would test their manhood. They wanted to fight me to prove they were stronger. I tried walking away. I had better things to do. They threw snowballs and one hit me in the face. Now it was on. It ended with them both crying from me "whitewashing" their faces.
At the time, I was 6'1" and 196lbs. My brother is 6'6" and his friend 6'4" and both around 240lbs. My mom of course was pissed at me for beating up my "little brother".
As a side note, everyone in my family is tall. Men are 6'2" to 6'8" (except me) and the women are 5'9" to 6'3". I was always sensitive about my height(if you can believe that). My family, especially my dad, picked on my size. My dad even called me the runt of the litter.

You brought back a memory that had long been filed away. One night, maybe around 8ish, don't recall my age, maybe 13 or 14, we were hiding in a neighbor's yard after throwing snow balls at a passing car. The guy found us, we tried telling him we were looking for our dog, of course he wasn't having any parts of that BS. I thought we were in for a huge butting kicking. After threatening to go to our parents, he left. We all went our separate ways and got home in no time. What fun, in hind sight. Thanks for bring that memory back, LTC Stephen Ford.

I loved snowball fights! When I was playing ball @ISU, we would build snow forts and edit for the ROTC formation to come by. Then we'd ambush them!!!

I've ran into 3 of those cadets in my 12.5 years... Looking back....

I grew up in Florida, so I didn't have many opportunities to have snowball fights as a kid. However, my first winter in Illinois, one of the deacons from the church called to say the neighbors were concerned about the pastor running around the yard at night playing in the snow!

The snowfall in middle Indiana varied from year to year, but we would always have enough o go snowball fighting and sledding.. I remember to make it a little more fun, we would put rocks in the middle of our snowballs. It hurt, but back then, we were really rough on each other.

I grew up in Michigan where driving during the winter was better because snow filled in the pot holes in the road.
So yes I enjoyed snowball fights and still do if I'm ever in a place where there is snow on the ground. I even had a chance to pelt my wife with a snowball once. She wasn't happy but she got over it!

I can't wait to teach my daughter about snowball fights!

I live in Colorado. Snow ball fights and forts rank up there with skiing and sledding but higher than snowman and snow angel making.

LTC Stephen F. Haven't been able to throw to many here in California (LOL!), but when I get back to Colorado next year lookout! Taught the kids how to do that and build some of the best snow forts and snowman in the world. LOL!

LTC Stephen Ford, I picked three although I didn't grow up in a climate cold enough for snow accumulation, I did teach my kids how to build snowmen, snow caves, snow angels and yes; snowballs.

Can't grow up in the upper peninsula of Michigan and not learn how to make and throw snowballs. You would get pummeled otherwise.

I got in trouble in 6th grade when I threw a snowball during recess at this girl I "liked". She ran crying back into the class room and the teacher sent me in to apologize. For some reason, that relationship never developed. I did learn however that throwing snowballs at a girl to impress her is not a good idea and my wife threatens me now if I ever think about doing that to her.
