Who else has been voted down for a discussion posted to Humor?

Today, I had a first time experience on RallyPoint. I started a discussion and tagged Humor and one other group besides survey. I put some historical information as background in the discussion and added some light humor to the post.
I know I am guilty of black humor in large part due to my experiences in the military. I know that sometimes my jokes fall flat. Is there a re-education camp for those of us who need lessons in humor?

I have been voted down for a discussion and I think it was because my humor fell flat. Perhaps re-education for me is in order.

LTC Stephen F. I don't recall what I was voted down for, but it has happened a few times. I don't mind if the down vote comes with a comment explaining the reasoning. I may not agree, but I hate when people down vote, but don't say anything. I think it is more important to comment after a down vote than it is after an up vote.

I have received a couple down votes....don't think it was for humor....or maybe it WAS for humor and was poorly taken in a thread that was supposed to be "serious"??!! No clue. Eitherway, I don't think I really worried about it. Have not heard of Good Humor Ice Cream....bet it tastes a bit funny tho!

Yep, a couple of times. But it's just lately. Who knows why? It might be because some people have no idea what the "Thumbs Down" is actually for. Oh well, who really cares anyways? You know what I always say, "fu-k it if you can't take a joke!"

I have been voted down over religious, racial, and political posts. I just think it is rude to vote people down. I do not vote people down just because I disagree. Instead I post my rebuttal to their point of view. I think that is a more positive way to handle it. IMHO.

Some new RPs haven't yet grasped the purpose of the down vote, and use it to register their disagreement with posted comments. I have been down-voted a number of times for this - always by newbies.

Here is a follow-on question, since we are limited to 75 up-votes per day if we down-voted somebody would that give us the opportunity to up-vote 76 on that day or is the 75 independent of down-votes. SSG Carlos Madden, CW5 Private RallyPoint Member

Sounds like too much PC (political correctness) and not enough backbone. Seem like people take things too personally and can't just enjoy what's being said but instead, over analyze and find it offensive to them or others. I love to refer to these people as pansies. I could use a less PC word but I could be down voted for it lol
