You are an NCO and his friend, contact his Plt Sgt and see if he will not assist with your understanding of what truly is the situation. Either way, I have never heard of a Soldier a week out from ETS, who everyone ignored.

Now, being that his unit is deploying it could be that they’re more focused on movement then to worry about what’s going on with him. I’m not in his unit, I was just asking for information in seeing if someone might have gone through a similar situation.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>He hasn&#39;t received orders because he hasn&#39;t submitted his ETS packet. These things don&#39;t happen all on their own, the Soldier has to submit his packet to ETS so transition can cut his separation orders. Of course, if they don&#39;t, he will still ETS.<br /><br />If he wasn&#39;t barred he could extend a month or two to give him time to transition. His flag and bar are separate things, and he can still be barred at the Commander&#39;s discretion even once his flag is lifted.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have spent my share of time getting rid of Soldiers (Rear Det NCO for those who weren&#39;t able to finalize chapter before deployment). I have also spent my share of time helping Soldiers ETS the right way. And helping them re-enlist. Not once did I see a situation where people were refusing to help a Soldier get orders. <br /><br />Either tje unit hates the kid - in which case they want to get him orders so he can disappear ASAP. Or they don&#39;t. In which case they are going to do what it takes to help him transition properly.<br /><br />Methinks there is more to the story OR the story isn&#39;t fully accurate.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Not to throw rocks, but this story stinks like week long guests. 1. No CoC wants or likes Congressional because it gets back up to the 4 stars. 2. Yes unit really doesn&#39;t have much to do with his ETS orders as the list normally comes down from Post as to who is leaving, at least 30-60 days in advance. 3. If the IG can&#39;t/doesn&#39;t want to help him, then perhaps the SM has bad time on the books which will automatically extend their ETS date.
