Sorry about your neighbor's situation. Why do you have to talk with VA re the 2 years? You can always talk with your lender about your mortgage.

You would need to have a conversation with your lender and your realator. The VA isn’t going to help or deny you selling your house.

VA is just the underwriter, not the custodian. Zero fiduciary play. Consider social and civic action regarding the neighbor. Avoid if you believe they are crazy.

In reference to selling your home, make contact with any VA regional office, they will further provide details as to how to clear your VA Home certificate. Several years ago, like 17yrs ago, I sold my home which was purchased on my certificate, I paid off my mortgage and notified them afterwards and they cleared my certificate, however, things may have changed by now, meaning the process. So you might want to give them a call and they will give more clarity. Also, it's listed under the VA Website, where to inquiry about the certificate, it also list a toll free number to call as well.
