Who among you were fortunate to attend the NCO academy of your or another service branch...memories?

I was selected to attend the USCG Chief Petty Officer Academy in 1996. That was preceded by the Senior NCO Leadership and Management School in 1988. Both events provided excellent skills' development and networking environments for the Coast Guard's top enlisted personnel. And they were a lot of fun, too. Did you attend your service's NCO academy? What did you gain from your training experience?

I attended 2 BNCOCs, 3 ANCOCs, 2 ALCs, and 2 SLCs. Being an instructor I had to be a graduate of every course I instructed. I still have friends from each I maintain contact with. It's interesting to see how different regions teach the same POI.

Yes, very little, waste of an operators time. Most of us that weren't socialites felt that way too. We really learned how many should not be there but were too.

As a Graduate ofthe 101 Recondo School (A substitute for PLDC), 2 BNOCs and 2 ANCOCs in addtition to First Sergeant Course ... I Am ever so thankful to the professional instruction I received at all of them... But especially the 101 Recondo school which specialized in small unit tactics and leadership. All had things taught that were very beneficial after my next promotions to ber able to do the next level job well ..
