I guess the Logical Choice is 3 but the others sure are nice. Used to overnight it at the NE Side of Diego Garcia at the Old Plantation French Guest House, No Running Water, No Toilet, No Electricity, No Pretty Much Everything but with a shout out on an emergency line and Medics would be there in no time just being 30 miles from downtown. I could do that for 3 days but that is about my limit. Did 2 weeks with just Generator Power Powering basics at house due to a winter storm about a decade ago. Yeah I kind of like Modern Civilized Amenities.

The last one I would want to lose would be 90% certainty I will not be killed in my sleep.

Air Conditioning and refrigeration would be the first to go. I can make due with fans and wet towels (swamp cooling) and going to market every day.

Next would be indoor plumbing. It'll be just like camping!

Modern medicine is next, I'm fairly healthy, less than 90% certainty that I will not be killed in my sleep makes that by far the worst option.

I made this post because it was a thought-experiment game my Marines and I played when we had experience giving up each at different times.

I figured some folks here might have the experience and context to play it too. Maslow's hierarchy of needs is very different when you've touched parts of it. Me? I'll give up 1. then 2. then 4. 3, I'll kee forever if you please, it is the reason I would never want to live in any other era.

I'm a Jarhead. Items 1, 2 & 4 are part of the job description. It sure is nice of the Navy to assign their Corpsman over to us though!

In the Civilian world, the list is a lot different. The one thing I would struggle if I lost would be my wife. The next would be my freedoms. The list are all 1st world problems except for medical knowledge. My wife and I chuckle everytime we realize we are complaining about 1st world problems.

Modern medicine would probably be what I least want to lose, especially since you included the safe water (even if it isn't running water).

Then I'd probably go with the plumbing one, again because of the water.

That would follow with the AC for usefulness.

Last would be the not being killed in my sleep. If I'm asleep then so be it, at least I won't feel much if anything.
