Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump 43-40 percent in a Morning Consult national poll conducted entirely after the Democratic Convention concluded Thursday night, a 7-point swing from a Consult poll done just before the convention. But the survey of 1,931 registered voters, who were questioned Friday and Saturday, shows a race basically up for grabs.

The Republican Party rejuvenated the American fighting spirit. The Democratic Party whined, opined, and complained about the transgressions against them. And Hillary tried to explain why so many don't like her.

SP5 Mark Kuzinski It would appear, as an outsider, that the democratic party is backing their candidate while the republicans are still butt-hurt that one of the insiders isn't representing them.

The support or lack of could have an influence on the direction of the parties and the election in general. It will be interesting.

They both catered to the Beliefs of their Particular Party. Republicans Told Republicans what groups to Hate and Fear. Democrats told Democrats why we should Hope and Dream. Both Conventions Reinforced what their believers believe about the Competition.

A lot of it will depend on your political tilt. I'm pretty much in the "same" camp. A few points bump on both. However both were seriously flawed. I saw how fractured the Democrats were where Bernie was still the star. They paraded the same old same old whiny stuff. Republicans were too skewed on throwing harpoons vs. talking about actual fixes. It's all about trying to energize people to show up and vote. I don't recall the viewership ratings but I did watch more of the Republican as I only had iPad summaries as I was in Europe the past week. All political theater....

Presidents or Presidential candidates should be required to make their own speeches, their own words. Not those of a publicist or speech writer.

I chose democrat because all of the outpouring support for the candidates. I love how Independence party and republican party united as one to support one another. The Dem party had so many people like celebrities, artists, etc came and spoke out. I cant say the same for the republican party. All they want to promote hate and fear. This country was not build on that. It was built on integrity, freedom, etc. This is America and its a big melting pot. This country is not just great it is AWESOME and i am proud to this my home.

they were both internally confrontational and divided. It amazes me how the Republican contested convention model and Democrat Super Pac both work to ignore the party constituants.....

I think the Republican Convention was more important for their candidate. I doubt many did not know about Hillary. I think this is confirmed by the numbers of who tuned into each.

The Republican convention was more of a states-rights convention with each state wearing garb representing their states throughout the conventionSP5 Mark Kuzinski. The convention was attended by grass-roots activists with many Republican "stars" staying home. This convention was focused on electing Donald Trump who is an outsider who brought millions of new voters to the republican side.
The Democrat convention was focused more on national unity which makes sense since they are essentially a liberal group who supports Federal rule and judicial activism in the federal court system.
Hillary Rodham Clinton is the epitome of liberal everything. All of the democrat "stars" attended or sent a video [former POTUS Jimmy Carter]
Bernie Sanders drew many disaffected progressive under-40 people to the democrat party. Some of those supporters embraced supporting Hilary after Bernie endorsed him.
There were protests outside of both conventions; but the DNC erected a fence to keep people away and perhaps to keep disaffected delegates in :-)

Sanders completely capitulated in order to unite Party, while the GOP remains deeply split.

It helps to not have any principles beyond winning power at any cost.

It was almost a perfect Ying and Yang. The Republican Party Insiders were forced by the "voters" to accept a candidate the Party hates. While the Democrat voters were forced by the Party Insiders to accept a candidate the voters hate.

Definately the democrats. Hell, they even went so far as to venture into fraudulent activities to ensure their desired nominee's victory. Trump actually got hesitant support at best from the majority of the Republican party. I don't think that they actually took the prospect of him being the Republican party nominee seriously until they saw the overwhelming support he was recieving from the voters.

SP5 Mark Kuzinski I had to do with I didn't care, because I refused to watch the Democratic Party Convention, therefore I can't provide any type of opinion! I will never vote for HRC period!
